e-mail from World Schools 2006

Dear All,
Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus I Chi! - Happy St David's Day!

Many thanks for the flood of registrations, and wishes for the day! On the day of the opening of the Senedd, our new Welsh Assembly building, we're proud to announce an almost equally auspicious event, the release of our latest newsletter! The third newsletter is now available to download from the Wales2006 web-site (www.wales2006.com) on the "About 2006" page, and we have updated the site with a glamorous picture of our tournament headquarters. The newsletter includes a detailed description of the registration process, a small but perfectly-formed Welsh lesson, announcements of sponsors, and exciting news about a television documentary which is going to be made about the World Championships in Wales.

As ever, if you have any questions regarding the tournament, registration or the web-site don't hesitate to get in contact,

Many thanks,
David Penny

KOC bid for Euros 2007

Fellow debaters of Europe,

I am proud to announce on behalf of Koc University, Istanbul that we will be bidding at Berlin for the European Universities Debating Championships 2007.

Many of you will already know about our bid and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our friends and colleagues across Europe who have supported us. We will be posting links to our website, promotional video (!) and bid documents in the coming weeks.

However, we would like to outline some of the key aspects of the bid here:·
We will once again be bidding to hold Euros in the summer. It really is the best time to visit Istanbul and means we can host Euros at the beautiful Koc campus, hold the now famous break night Bosphorus Cruise and even enjoy relaxing days and nights on the beach.

Our CA will be Can Okar, EUDC Champion 2003, Worlds Semi-Finalist and judge in the Euros Final 2005.

We will once again be bidding with the financial support of Koc, other sponsors and the Istanbul Municipality, meaning that Koc, as it is every year, is great value for money. We will aim to make it the cheapest registration fee in Euros history.

We hope that you can support our bid and help Koc achieve its dream ofhosting the EUDC.

See you all in Berlin,
Riza Isik
Convenor,
